Kayaking Daintree and Snapper Island on a calm day is an easy trip even for the inexperienced. This is Lynn’s first try of a single kayak and we were able to paddle around Snapper Island and back into cape Kimberley with comparative ease.
A good trip is all in the planning, checking the weather, taking food and water, experienced guides and the right boat to handle the conditions comfortably. We headed out around 10 am in the morning took our time spotting Turtles and a large school of pelagic fish being rounded up by Dolphins. The Coral on the approach to the island was spectacular, being a low tide and clear water we passed over large brain corals, staghorn coral, various soft corals with clown fish darting for shelter as we passed.
What a fantastic day after lunch we cruised back to Cape Kimberley for a 3.30pm arrival and a easy drive home.
A really special day to remember.
